Things stuffed into a Suitcase: sites through Northern Georgia

In response to the economy and political sphere of northern Georgia of the past year, urban development saw accelerated increases in new homes and institutions following others cessation. This series began by photography of observations of the natural processes submerged within minimal, open, immaculate city structures. Henceforth, incessant modern societal standards lead to replacement by accumulation, an effect produced by the design of these urban institutions. Further investigation drew subjects from sets abandoned in closed theaters, and serene and unusually muted scenes within construction sites alike. Innately as a storyteller and designer with an engineering background, I pursued these spaces seeking to construct esoteric and surreal photos that are spatially disorienting. In recycling old, worn structures with fresh concrete and plastered drywall, there are equally time-worn, warm bodies in essence of these surreal spaces. In these sites through Northern Georgia, the mold of a working man wrought with the task of sculpting these spaces left me to lay bare the integrity of such a person engraved in these photographs.
